Privacy

Short version: no accounts, no cookies, and nothing tracked if you're in Europe or your browser asks not to be.

What's kept on your device

Your Saves and an anonymous ID live in your browser's local storage, on this device only. Your list of Saves never leaves your device. The anonymous ID is a random string that tells us a visit came from the same browser as before. It isn't linked to your name, email or anything else about you. Your browser may clear both if you don't visit for a while, and you can clear them yourself in your browser settings.

What we measure

We use PostHog, on its US servers, to count visits and spot errors on the site, like whether someone opened a recipe, started cooking, saved, shared or printed. When you search, we record the filters and how many results came back, never what you typed.

For some visits, PostHog also records how the page is used, like scrolling, taps and what's on screen, so we can see where a recipe gets confusing. Anything you type is hidden before it leaves your browser, and so is your list of Saves.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without the anonymous ID.

No cookies

We don't set cookies, which is why there's no cookie banner.

When we don't track you at all

If you're in Europe (the EU and EEA, the UK or Switzerland), or your browser sends Global Privacy Control (GPC), PostHog doesn't load and nothing about your visit is sent to it. Cloudflare Web Analytics still counts the visit, without cookies.
